Turkish Airlines Offices in Istanbul

THY (Turk Hava Yollari) or Turkish Airlines is the national air carrier of Turkey. It was founded in 1933 with the name of "State Airlines Administration" as a department of Ministry of Defense which after two years was turned over to the Ministry of Public Affairs. In the beginning, THY had only 4 small planes with a total of 19 seat capacity. In 1947 it made first international flight to Athens, then in 1956 it changed its name to "Turk Hava Yollari". As of the beginning of 2011, it has a very young fleet of 154 aircrafts composed by Airbuses and Boeings.

As for the domestic flights from Istanbul, Turkish Airlines has connections to every major city with an airport throughout Turkey.
